Dear Students, (DDE) Welcome to the website of the Directorate of Distance Education, Patna University. In recent years the distance education has been accepted as the most suitable and viable alternative to the traditional education system. By indening access to higher education, the distance mode provides an opportunity to all those who are unable to pursuer higher education through the traditional system. These include those who fail to get seat in regular colleges or those who do not wish to join regular colleges due to some reasons, housewives, in service persons, those who belong to weaker section of the society and are unable to meet the cost of formal education and many of other categories. The Directorate of Distance Education, (DDE) Patna University has been imparting higher education with all its excellence and perfection for the last 34 years. The Directorate is becoming popular among the students day by day which is indicated by the fact that currently around 16,000 students are enrolled and are getting their education through this institute. Our past examination results have always been very grand and encouraging. This is because the Directorate takes all possible cases and necessary steps to improve the standard and quality of its teaching. Our many former students have been very successful in their lives and holding very high and responsible pasts in various fields.
